Inofolic® Alpha Range
Yes, you can take Inofolic® Alpha and Inofolic® AlphaPlus to help with the symptoms of PCOS when you’re not trying for a baby.
Both contain Myo-inositol and Alpha-lactalbumin. Alpha-lactalbumin helps with the absorbtion of Myo-inositol. Myo-inositol has been shown to help with all symptoms of PCOS, such as irregular periods, acne, weight problems and facial hair growth.
It also helps to manage the symptoms of insulin resistance, common in patients with PCOS. Should you decide to use this product, but don’t wish to get pregnant, make sure that you use contraception.
It is worth noting that PCOS women are at higher risk of developing gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy). It is safe to take Inofolic® Alpha and Inofolic® AlphaPlus during pregnancy. Please note that both products contain 400mcg of folic acid per day (200mcg per sachet), which is recommended during pregnancy. However, please check with your clinician that this amount of folic acid is suitable for you throughout pregnancy.
Inofolic® AlphaPlus is a capsule. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It is best not to take it with sweetened drinks as this can inhibit absorption and, therefore, effectiveness. Inofolic® Alpha should be taken on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes before food.
Inofolic® Alpha is a powder. It should be taken with a small glass of either still or sparkling water. It is best not to take it with sweetened drinks as this can inhibit absorption and, therefore, effectiveness. Inofolic® Alpha should be taken on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes before food.
We see no reason why you shouldn’t take Inofolic® Alpha or Inofolic® AlphaPlus whilst taking the OCP (oral contraceptive pill). The Inofolic® Alpha range of supplements are designed to help manage the symptoms of PCOS. Both contain Myo-inositol and Alpha-lactalbumin. Alpha-lactalbumin helps with the absorbtion of Myo-inositol. Sometimes the OCP can cause weight gain and there’s some evidence to suggest that myo-inositol can limit this.

Inofolic® Alpha is a range of nutritional supplement to be taken as part of a well-balanced diet. Skipping a dose is not a problem but should it happen, just continue your dosing as scheduled. Should you forget several doses, just resume your normal pattern as soon as possible. Taking larger doses at one time would not compensate for previously skipped doses. Be aware that forgetting to take supplements over a long period may reduce your overall benefit.
Yes. The two supplements work on different areas of fertility and will not interfere with each other. Although both products contain folate/folic acid, the combined folate dose is within normal guidelines. Check with your GP for the appropriate daily amount of folic acid for you.

When taking any dietary supplement alongside other medication, it is always advisable to consult your doctor/ pharmacist.

Inofolic® Alpha contains Alpha-lactalbumin as well as myo-inositol and folic acid. Alpha-lactalbumin improves the absorption of myo-inositol in the intestines as 40% of women with PCOS absorb it less efficiently.
Inofolic® Alpha contains myo-inositol and folic acid, the same as Inofolic, however, it also contains alpha-lactalbumin which increases the absorption of myo-inositol. The ingredients in these products are carefully selected to meet the unique requirements of women with PCOS.
Myo-inositol, alpha-lactalbumin, and folic acid included in the formulation of Inofolic Alpha are tested to support all women with PCOS in addressing their signs and symptoms, such as menstrual irregularity, hormonal alterations, and also to support women with gestational diabetes.
Inofolic AlphaPlus includes in its formulation the 40:1 ratio of myo-inositol and D-chiro inositol, helpful in managing the metabolic alterations, that are present in PCOS patients with a BMI (Body Mass Index) over 25, addressing specifically insulin resistance. These formulations target different PCOS profiles and health concerns associated with these conditions.
A pharmacokinetic study has shown that the blood levels when taking a liquid capsule of 0.6g of myo-inositol is not significantly different to the blood level achieved when taking a 2g powder sachet of myo-inositol. This is because the absorption of myo-inositol from the patented soft-gel capsule formulation, is much more efficient than that of a powder.
Yes.
The clinical data to support Inofolic® AlphaPlus is conducted in women with a BMI (Body Mass Index) above 25, however it is also ok to take Inofolic® AlphaPlus if you have a BMI under 25 and prefer to take a capsule over a powder supplement.

The nutritional supplements found in Impryl® are especially important for men when trying to conceive. Standard sperm tests focus on quantity, motility and morphology, but do not test for DNA fragmentation (sperm with oxidative damage).
DNA fragmentation is the ‘snipping up’ of DNA in the sperm head, which can contribute towards difficulties in conceiving and/or miscarriage. Often, men take strong antioxidants to combat DNA fragmentation, but these substances may induce ‘reductive stress’ which can cause DNA decondensation (the unravelling of the DNA in the sperm head). This means that conception is not possible at all. For more detailed information, take a look at how does Impryl® help?
No, Impryl® is a dietary supplement and does not require a medical prescription. However, if you are suffering from known fertility problems, and particularly if you are under specialist care, we suggest you discuss the matter with your doctor.
Yes. The two supplements work on different areas of fertility and will not interfere with each other. Although both products contain folate/folic acid, the combined folate dose is within normal guidelines. Check with your GP for the appropriate daily amount of folic acid for you.
Each tablet of Impryl® contains: 200 mg Betaine, 200 mg L-cystine, 16mg Niacin, 10 mg Zinc, 1.4 mg Vitamin B6, 1.4 mg Riboflavin, 400 mcg Folic acid (5MTHF – glucosamine), 2.5 mcg Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin).
It is recommended to take one tablet per day
Impryl® is a tablet you can take with water. If needed, it’s also easy to break in half. Alternatively, the tablet can be crushed and mixed with food or a smoothie and will still be effective. We advise that you take your dose around the same time every day.

Yes.
Yes.
Impryl® is recommended for all men and women attempting to conceive, whether or not they have known fertility problems.
Evidence shows that Impryl® increases the chance of becoming pregnant.
You should take Impryl® for at least three months prior to natural conception or assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF.
The clinical studies for Impryl® show that for the best results you should take Impryl® for at least 3 months. This is to give the body’s metabolism time to adjust and provide the optimal balance to improve the quality of the sperm and egg. It is worth noting that sperm take approximately 70 days and eggs between 90-120 days to develop and grow.
The dose for Impryl® is one tablet per day.
We strongly discourage taking Impryl® alongside strong direct antioxidants such as vitamin C, CoQ10 and selenium. These substances may induce ‘reductive stress’ that may negate the benefit of Impryl®. Impryl® enables your body to provide all the natural antioxidant support you need. But it’s fine to take vitamin D, Inofolic Alpha and omega 3 fatty acids alongside Impryl®. For further information, read about how Impryl® helps?
